CramSheet works in your browser. Your sheets, folders and settings are stored on your device. They only leave it when you sign in to sync, publish a sheet, or ask the AI to write one. We do not run advertising, sell personal data or use tracking cookies.
Everything you write, your display name and avatar colour, your layout preferences, saved AI Studio prompts and replies, and backups you export. Clearing site data in your browser removes it; "Reset local session" in Account settings does the same.
| When | What is sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You sign in and sync | Your email address, the sign-in identifier from Google or the emailed link, and your sheets (title, text, folder, star, trash state, edit time) | To show your sheets on your other devices. Only your account can read them. |
| You publish a sheet (no account needed) | The sheet text, title, description, topic, tags and the author name you choose, plus an anonymous account identifier created for your browser | To show it in the Marketplace. Published sheets and author names are public. |
| You publish, report or save a community sheet | Your network address, kept only as a one-way hash for daily limits | To stop abuse and spam |
| You use "Generate with AI" (signed in) | The prompt you see, which includes the topic you typed and, for Refine, the sheet text | It is sent to Google's Gemini service to write the reply. Do not include secrets or personal data about others. |
| You publish a sheet | The beginning of the sheet | It is also read by Gemini to check it against the community rules before it goes live. |
| You make a short share link for a private sheet | The sheet text and title, plus an anonymous account identifier created for your browser, and your network address kept only as a one-way hash for daily limits | To let anyone with the link read the copy. It is deleted automatically after 7 days, is not listed or searchable, and you can stop it earlier from the Share window. Publishing the sheet is how to keep it longer. |
| You use the app | Anonymous counts: that a visit happened, whether this browser had visited before, the site that sent you, a coarse browser and device type (such as "Safari, phone"), and how often features are used (new sheet, print, export, share, publish). Never your name, account, sheet text or network address. | To see whether the app works and what to improve. Stored as daily totals that only the operator can read. Turn it off in Account settings, or send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, and nothing is counted. |
| You use the CramSheets browser extension | Only when you click it or press its shortcut: the text of the AI reply, the selection or the page you chose is turned into a sheet and handed to this site in your own browser. It is not sent to any server by the extension, and it is not stored beyond that moment. | To open what you chose as a sheet. After that it is an ordinary sheet in your browser, covered by the rows above. The extension reads a page only when you ask it to, and sends nothing to us. |
| You open a share link | A short link (cramsheets.com/s/…) asks our servers for the stored copy. | Anyone with the link can read the sheet. |
To publish, report or save a community sheet without signing in, your browser is given an anonymous account. It has no name or email. It is stored in your browser, so clearing site data loses it: your published sheets stay online, but you can no longer edit or remove them from the app. Sign in under Account settings to keep control of them.
Signed in, Account settings has Delete my account, which removes your account, your synced sheets, your short share links and everything you published. You can unpublish any sheet at any time from the Publish window. Deleting a sheet in the app deletes its cloud copy. Local data is removed by clearing site data.
Every community sheet has a Report button. To ask for something to be removed, for example because it copies your work, write to the contact address below with the link to the sheet. Sheets that receive several reports are hidden until they are reviewed.
The service runs on Google Firebase (sign-in, database, hosting and server functions) and uses Google's Gemini for AI features. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads. Those providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
